was gifted 6 (!!!) heads of iceberg lettuce so wedge salads it is. got some bottled chunky "blue" cheese for the 2 that want that. I will be having homemade ranch with feta. a few chunks of tomato, onion, and BACON. perfect for a hot day, only had to cook the bacon pieces. nothing else!

I have been eating low carb for years because I have type 2 diabetes, and salads like this one you describe have become a staple for me.

(41,255 posts)We’ve had 100+ temps for at least a week. Nonsense in heating up the kitchen. We’ve been eating lots of salads.
I’ve discovered that Jack Link thick cut bacon jerky popped in the microwave for about 50 seconds is outstanding. No frying. Very tasty.
