What's for Dinner, Tues., Aug. 6, 2024

Posting early because a friend and I are going out for an early dinner. We're going early because it's been a long time since we've had a chance to catch up, and the restaurant we're going to is too loud during regular dinner hour. My friend's apartment in NYC is under renovation, so sh'es staying in NJ for the week, yay!

Here's what I'm having:

Matzoh ball soup

Rhode Island style calamari. It has pickled cherry peppers and lemon aioli.

Iced tea.

We might share a wild berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream.

Our son is visiting. Choose as many as you like. Phad Thai, Chinese Veggies and fried rice. A hamberder, fried chicken, ribs, a hot dog.

IGA had the ribs for .98/lb in family packs that weren't huge. I got a premade pack of Miracle Noodle w/ Thai Yum Tom flavor. The ribs are meaty. I seasoned them, then simmered them so they are tender. Not sure if I like the Yum Tom flavor, but this is the first time I tried it. I've used this brand of miracle noodles before, but I seasoned them myself. If you are looking for a no carb noodle or rice substitute, shiritaki has a satisfying texture.

I might have a peach later, pretty full right now.

Make a sauce by adding tapenade, garlic and toasted bread crumbs to butter(benecol) till you smell garlic. Add shredded leftover chicken when chicken is hot add (cooked)spaghetti noodles and make sure noodles are covered with sauce add parmessan regiano.. serv. Had that with a little glass of whiskey and flour less chocolate zuchinni cake. Coffee to finish its good w/o the chicken too or with yellowfin tuna. Or you can brown the butter or add oil, however you decide you want it.
