Can I use old paint and primer that have been stored in a very hot attic for years?

Or should I discard them? I need the paint for touch up so it won't cause any harm if it doesn't work, but I'm wondering if I should take the old primer to hazardous waste and buy new. The can says "do not freeze" but doesn't say how hot it should't get. Advice welcome. Thanks!

Probably is fine if sealed properly.... PoliticAverse Jul 2012 #1
Thanks. Actually I've been a little worried about having paint up in that hot attic. yardwork Jul 2012 #2

When I finish this current project I'm taking it all to the hazardous waste recycling center. No more paint and primer in the attic for me.

I'm glad to know that it is probably ok to use, though.

It was a little lumpy - I had to stir it a lot, but when I brushed it on the lumps dissipated. I painted it on trim and then painted over with semi-gloss and everything seems fine.
