Want TV hung on the wall

I want to have my TV hung on the wall but the place I bought it wanted $400 to hang it. Any ideas where I might look to get the TV hung at a reasonable price? Perhaps one of those handyman places. It is a 55'' flat screen.

$400 is crazy. You should be able to get a handy man in the $100 dollar range. Hassin Bin Sober Dec 2011 #2

Easy to install yourself. Just make sure you mount them to wall studs. Lifting a big teevee into place is the hardest part of the job.

Maybe a few bucks more if you go with a franchise outfit like a "Mr. Handyman".... probably $150. We use him for condo association business and they charge 90 bucks an hour plus 45 bucks show-up fee. He should be able to do it in less than an hour.

Like Stinky says, they are realtively simple.

Since the mounting brackets are universal, they come with several sets of differently sized bolts to attach the bracket to the the TV. This requires being able to read instructions. Not brain surgery.

The wall mount piece comes with lag screws. The bracket has several openings so you should be able to land at least two of theose holes over two separate studs. The last one I did had a built-in buble level.

Once the wall mount piece is on and the back mount piece is on, it takes two, maybe thre people to set it in place and click the lock in place.
