but fear it wasn't far enough.

put it on a piece of wood is my suggestion, we put it on a christmas card and he had already shredded the paper when we went to flip it over

precariously balanced on the counter. Well, the mice this year were smart enough to rotate the tube so they could eat the bait. I then put pill bottles on either side of the tube and managed to catch a few mice in a steep and tall kitchen trash can.

That presented me with the problem of what to do with live mice. I sent them to mouse heaven, into the dumpster with bags of choice garbage for them to feast on for up to a week before the Sanitation Local bore them off to glory.

I've since swapped over to the electronic traps and they are fantastic, quick for the mouse, no handling of corpses to me. The design seems irresistible to the little bastards, I haven't baited it in weeks.

but no signs of another mouse since we caught one with the water glass last week, so the new one is under the sink for future needs

I know where they're getting in but it's nearly impossible for me to get to. So that's where i set the traps.

Exterminators tell you that where you see one mouse, there are probably a dozen you don't see. This seems to be a really bad year for the little bastards.

Mice can smell and hear cats and they know instinctively they're bad news...when the cat aroma and cat sounds get intense enough, mice WILL stay the fuck away.

I guess that's not enough. LOL I've caught SIXTEEN baby mice over the past 2 weeks. I use a humane trap and take them over to the far edge of the park a couple of blocks away and send them off with some bread crumbs to fend for themselves in the wild. I figure they probably get eaten by hawks or crows or something, but at least their deaths serve a purpose that way, instead of just going to the garbage dump--and I didn't actually kill them (just can't do it).

As for these 6 cats, they'll sit in the kitchen and watch the area where the mice are hanging out, like "Hey mom! There's a mouse in there!," but that's all my lazy cats ever do about it.

I just wish I could figure out where the little frakkers are getting in! I've scoured the kitchen and have patched up even the most teeny-tiny holes I can find, including using a mirror and flashlight to look underneath the edge of my cabinets, but they are STILL getting in. I am also concerned about momma mouse, since these all appear to be babies. It's about to make me nuts, because they are getting in my stove, so it has to mostly be set up as a mouse trap right now. I'm getting tired of microwaving almost everything I eat.

And the best bait for mice would be peanut butter.. I have been successful in catching the mice that way..

mice can't resist the smell. Which makes sense, since I can't either...
