Related: About this forumi see ads for "free" solar panels. Has anyone here had them installed, and are they
really free? If so, would you also name the company that does this? Many thanks.

(6,133 posts)It sounds like a competition between thousands of installation companies across the country making the costs affordable, if we can keep the oil and gas companies dirty hands out of it.

(7,018 posts)I didn't put their ad in my post. How did it get there? I didn't know that anyone else
could put anything into my post outside of me, myself.

(26,691 posts)I just bought a Ford Fusion Plug in hybrid. I've been researching charging stations. So now everywhere I go in the Internet, I see ads for charging stations.
I shopped for kitchen cabinets and now I see ads everywhere I browse for kitchen cabinets.
I don't see any ads on du because I have a donor star and can turn off ads. Other people can use Adblock. I really should install some ad software because some sites are unbearable without it.

(26,691 posts)I'm a little dubious of the companies that will install panels for "free" and then put you on a long contract.
It just doesn't seem like a good idea to lock in for a long contract when prices are dropping on the equipment.
But I haven't researched it that much.
