For reasons not worth explaining, I have the tops but not the legs of these two desks:

I would like to turn them into worktables - the corner desk standing or counter height (36" - 40" and the rectangular one sitting height (28" - 30" .
The corner desk in particular is pretty heavy so I need pretty sturdy legs for it (and probably at least 5, maybe 6). The legs don't have to be pretty (they will be in a craft/work room in the basement). Can anyone recommend what type of legs I should get and where? Lowes/Home Depot don't seem to have any of the taller ones and the 28" ones they had seemed flimsy? I'm not sure if wood legs would be strong enough or if I need to go with metal legs.

(21,946 posts)to make storage shelves with boards.
4X4's would also work with varnish on them they would be sturdy and look pretty good at the same time.
