Not really home improvement but a little DIY

I have a set of cooking pans that are great - but they are now over forty years old and the knobs and handles look worn. Trying to find replacement handle is iffy in my opinion - knobs not so much. But I had a thought - I know there are heat resistant paints.

What would be the best paints to paint these handles and knobs? I am not sure what the material they are made of - some sort of plastic or something.

they may be Bakelite … normally they dull over time and heat.
As long as they are not cracked or chipped, I’d leave them be

Just my opinion

if you are set on paint, maybe engine paint. Get it at your local auto parts place.
