A cheap shelf liner

I bought some plastic place mats I didn't use. Got them at Ollie's for 1.00 each. I got the bright idea of using them to line the shelves in my hall closet. Two of them side by side cover the whole shelf. I got 2 shelves lined and it looks so much better.

My house was built in 1958, so the closet is probably deeper and wider than in newer homes.

Cheap is the shelf liner I used in Boston. I saved the Sundy comics and lined open shelving with them, they were colorful and cheery in a drab tenement kitchen. Stuff that didn't show got the rest of the paper. It worked. When it got torn or soiled, it was cheap to replace.

That's cheap shelf and drawer liner.
