I have an Amana electric range

I looked for information, but can't find an answer. Does the glass top raise so I can clean under the heating elements? We bought sometime 10-12 years ago. I cleaned the top and sides today and wondered if the top opens.

Thanks!

It doesn't look like i can lift the glass top and clean under it. I can cross it off my list!

and makes the burners or the pan underneath them funky. I'm posting a video on how to take the stove apart, but there is so much in there that is brittle, including the cooktop itself, that "call a repairman" would be my response if a burner stopped working.

IOW, don't trouble trouble until trouble troubles you.

if such a person exists

I got into cleaning mode today, and cleaned the top and sides. Since I was so moved, was curious if the under side needed attention after all these years

8. Don't fix it if it aint broke. Don't clean it if it aint dirty.

There might be a little dust in there, dust gets everywhere and generally doesn't cause a problem. There really won't be anything much to clean, so just clean what you can get to.

Trying to take it apart without a damned good reason (like it doesn't work and won't get any worse if you drop the top and destroy the innards completely) seems like a losing game. If you're working off nervous energy through cleaning, consider moving it out from the wall and cleaning under it, that's where you'll find the lost paring knives and science projects.

When I looked for it, I noticed that it was pretty bad under the stove, so I moved it and vacuumed, then moved it some more and scrubbed down the cupboard and then the stove.

You must be psychic. It is nervous energy and that kind of work sure helps
