My 'new' refrigerator should be here, soon

Just as a catch up, while I had out of town company my refrigerator, but not the freezer, started warming. My dryer broke. My car started acting up. It's stressful enough having company and worrying about how it's affecting Carys, without major stuff going kaput.

I bought a refurbished refrigerator with a bottom freezer that will be delivered very soon. Meanwhile, there's an old refrigerator in the pantry/laundry room that is non functional so I 've used it to store big pans. That will be pulled out and turned over to Consumer's Energy. I guess they give you about $100. The semi-functioning fridge will move to that spot. I can use that freezer space to start moving stuff from the ancient but still functioning freezer that's in the garage. I'd like something newer and smaller. AND the semi-cold refrigerator part will serve as a beverage storage place.

Unfortunately, the new one will be temporarily going to a less than optimum spot until the family has time to move the totally dead one to the garage, for pick up, the semi working one to the spot that one occupied, and the new one to where the refrigerator should be. Sounds like a lot of work but nothing has to be moved very far.

Oh, and I also have a new, stacked washer dryer that needs to be installed in the laundry room The current washer will go to Habitat for Humanity. The dryer will go to the curb for the scrap metal collecting guys.

I can't WAIT for my trip through appliance hell to end.

Oh, and the car is (supposedly) a quick, easy, inexpensive fix. I'm just waiting for my mechanic to get the part.

I'm very thankful for my new medication because, so far, I haven't thrown and broken anything, or had anything even resembling a 'melt down'.

malfunctioned or broke completely at about the same time, and I had to deal with repair and delivery people coming in and out on an almost daily basis. I was just about hysterical when the new washer I ordered when the old one became unrepairable finally arrived after a long delay, only to discover it didn't work either because of a defective part that after another long wait turned out to be unavailable, so yet another washer had to be delivered. The cat spent a lot of time hiding in an upstairs closet for several weeks and I wanted to join her. I wasn't medicated but probably should have been, and I seriously considered drinking all my wine at once. So I totally get what a trip through appliance hell is like.

Good luck! Hope the cat pack won't be too unsettled by all the comings and goings and noises.

I really think I’m not capable of owning a house and running it. I admire people who do.

appliance problems. Last week I had my Whirlpool washer give me problems, it needed a new clutch. It is an oldy, but goody. Had dryer vent cleaned. The guys also took my oven door apart and cleaned the glass, put in new oven lights, and sealed a strip on my glass top stove.

Your ordeal sounds like anxiety hell. Smile, take a slow breath, soon all will be well. Carys and the crew will be with you and what more do you need.

I was told by an appliance salesperson that people staying at home during Covid realy affected appliance sales. Home appliances weren't designed to be used as much as they were during covid so a lot of appliances got worn out. So the lifespan of said appliances was shortened because a stove or fridge was being used a lot more then normal.
