Raised beds have all been reinstalled in the new flat garden area. The new grass area hasn't been finished yet (dirt area below the garden). DH and I installed two arches in the garden. Fencing around the garden hasn't been installed yet either. Hoping to get dirt in the steel planters by the patio this week.
Cobblestone retaining wall below the garden is new too. Cobblestone is old, of course, and was actually on-site when we bought the property.

(187,341 posts)I finished our gardening table today.
The darker material is part of a play set our neighbors (sold their home) had to dismantle.

(8,545 posts)I love the raised beds and the way the cobblestone area is done make a perfect place for the beds. Where did you get the raised beds?
It looks like a wooded area - hope you don't have any deer issues. They have devastated our garden in just the last few days. I have an electric fence, but I guess not high enough. Oh well, I will make it deer proof next year with some high fences, too late this year. In Central Texas, it gets so hot that our season is basically over by mid-July.
I've had all of those raised beds for years. They're all Birdies beds, which are imported from Australia by a guy in SoCal that has the Epic Gardening website. (same guy recently bought Botanical Interests seed co).
We are surrounded by woods, and have a herd of deer that wander through nearby yards. They haven't come through our property (fully fenced) since we adopted dogs a few years back. Our pups keep them from wandering through, not by enforcement, but rather through laziness of the deer and easier pickings in other yards. Sure, our pups bark when they see them Nextdoor, but they've never had to actually chase a deer.
The fence we have for the garden is made from wire panels that are edged in cedar. We leave a gap at the top of the panel and then put a topper on which works for growing tall vines (beans, or raspberry canes). The overall height is 6+ feet. They've never jumped through the open space.
The post brackets were installed last week and I'm sure Dh will get those posts and then panels reinstalled soon. My low garden beds are more susceptible to my youngest dog, who seems to enjoy the warm soil surface. I had to cover some of his paw imprints yesterday in one of the beds.
