Gardening
Related: About this forumGarden therapy yesterday...
Mary, my hearts desire, decided to extend her bulb garden. Her background Irises are spreading greatly and the companion Hostas needed to be better showcased.
Anyway
.
The grass needed to be yanked out of its its at least 30 year old home. We needed to save as much soil as we could, so I took the sod pieces down to the Entropy Pile laid them on the compost sieve laid over the wheelbarrow and started beating them with the edge of a garden hand shovel to loosen the dirt.
Beat the babies down to their bare roots getting all that soil free.
Sometime in the second hour of that job it became less about getting the dirt out. I took out so many little frustrations beating the crap outta those sod pieces.
It felt great although my arthritic hands are a little sore today.
I would post the comments I had in my head as I freed the soil
but Ill keep politics out.
Have a wonder day in nature!

(10,891 posts)The Meadowsweet is wild sourced but I tend it. The Comfrey came from donated roots from my sister.
We also use the comfrey for fertilizer in the veggie garden.
