My friend used to live in the mountains & said daffodils were the only flower the deer wouldn't eat. Her yard was a burst of yellow come spring!

(5,787 posts)6. I'm envious. We live in Zone 9b. We visited the East Coast last spring
We were lucky enough to see the daffodils and tulips in all their glory. So, I ordered daffodil and tulip bulbs, stored them in the refrigerator, and planted them in early December.
Out of 40 daffodil bulbs, I got 7 blooms. Out of 10 tulip bulbs, I got 6 blooms. Any suggestions or is there no hope for me on this zone?
