Forget measuring up to other parents...

http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2012/02/blogger_to_parents_forget_meas.html

Everyone is a better parent than you are.

Let go of any hope of someday measuring up. You won’t. Ever.

With the arrival of the latest parenting screed, Josette Crosby Plank saw the futility in trying. She decided it was time for frank conversation on her blog.

Josette Crosby Plank is a mom and part-time bookstore clerk's with a blog that features humorous looks at picky eaters, breast-feeding and life with three children.

Now Plank’s “French Parents Are Superior. In Fact, Most Other Parents Are Better Than You Are,” has gone viral.

The Hampden Twp. mom and part-time bookstore clerk’s blog, www.halushki.com, features humorous and irreverent looks at picky eaters, breast-feeding and life with three children.

Good story, good way of thinking about it.

On Edit: halushki.com isn't coming up for me. I'll see if I can figure out the problem and update the post again. But the article is well worth the read.

You might want to inform the Patriot-News so they can at least run a correction. HopeHoops Feb 2012 #8

My eldest daughter shadowed Nancy about 4 years ago (something E. Penn requires of 11th graders). She's in Budapest for the semester (McDaniel College sister campus) and I was going to send Nancy the link to her blog - KrystinasCrossings.com.

So far you win the "closest to me" award!

Nancy is semi-retired now. She still writes columns, but isn't an editor anymore. It's funny when people find out she'd my MIL. Either a "Wow, cool!" reaction, or a "wow...uhhhh....". Lol. She's a great writer, but doesn't sugar coat her opinions.

And I'm near the creek near the pike (CVSchools). Although, we go to Acri Meadows Park to get in the water. The kids like catching crayfish and exploring the little island there. Bona fide PA hillbillies, lol.

That's the only one I can think of on the west shore.

On Edit: I look like Tommy Chong. I know what you look like from the paper pictures. Don't be freaked out if a long-haired and bearded weirdo hippie freak approaches you.
