Related: About this forumTonight my wife and I are VERY PROUD (as usual) of our 7th grade son!
Today my son played his first baseball game for his team, the Winthrop Ramblers. He had 1 at bat and hit a double with 2 RBI. He was thrown out trying to steal 3rd base. Maria and I are VERY PROUD, not only for his stats, but more for the fact that when his team was losing, he showed that he has not one iota of "quit" in his body! what a great kid!
BTW, his name is Jonathan. Maria and I adopted him as an infant. He's a smart and handsome boy with a BIG heart and he never played baseball before he went out for the middle school team a few weeks ago. Maria and I thought he'd go out for track, but we'll support him in whatever sport he chooses to pursue. If he DOES eventually go out for track, we hope that his event isn't the javelin. We could easily live life without the "spear chucker" jokes. At almost 58, I don't really want to be in the situation of having to punch a racist jerk in the nose! We're quite happy with our melting pot family of a white dad, Puerto Rican mom and African American son. In our minds, we have the greatest family in the world, even on those days when we want to absolutely throttle each other!
Thank you for allowing me to share.
PEACE!
