Never thought I'd be in one of those "two-dog families"...

And yet here we are.

You might already know Rosie on the left. The new guy on the right is Jasper.

And that's coming from a devoted cat person. Ok, I admit I harbor a desire to get a Corgi but don't let Sophie Stinky Toes hear about that!

Rosie is a gorgeous girl and I'm sure Jasper and her will be great pals soon if not already.

There's nothing wrong with having two or more. We crossed that line with dogs and cats long long ago.

He's a rescue, probably a mix of some kind. We're hoping our veterinarian might have a guess.

They always believed that the best family dogs were mixes. Better personality and less medical problems than purebreds. Of course, there might be one breed in the mix that messes things up, but generally speaking...

Enjoy!

Three and four weren't bad, Five became unmanageable. We ended up having to surrender one when we had five because of constant fights. It was the hardest thing I've done.

Dogs are intensely social animals and they need somebody around when their people are MIA working or shopping or whatever. Even a cat will provide some company, but another dog is better.

When we had one dog and I wanted two, my husband was against it. For a long time. Then I thought to myself, "He's not going to divorce me over a dog."

I was right. Since then, we've always had two dogs: Kelly and Abby, Abby and Jack, Jack and Chloe, and now Chloe and Blake. It's really wonderful.

Congratulations and enjoy.

It's really more like dog squared or cubed because it's so fun to watch them bounce off of each other.
