Related: About this forumAll 3 boys pounced me out of a very sound sleep, at 4 this morning. My revenge?
I managed to fall back asleep and slept through their usual feeding time.
Let's see if they try THAT nonsense, again!
On the bright side, for the first time since losing Mittens the Kitten, Scooter and Spooky treated me to the feral cat's morning dance of JOY. Skittish? She hung back and hissed 'You're LATE!!!' At least that's my interpretation.

(27,011 posts)There's still a nice breeze blowing through the windows so I'll hold off for as long as the house stays below the designated temperature. I'm not a fan of air conditioning but I use it to keep the boys comfortable. I admit it. They are spoiled.
It looks like the heat wave is going to break on Sunday. Hopefully Sunday's forecasted rain won't disappear like yesterday's did.

(118,041 posts)We actually got a decent amount of rain yexterday. Quite a noisy little storm that broke a minute after I got in! My little one hates thunder, so he spentt the storm curled on my lap.

Regarding the boys, the cause/effect of early morning pouncing and late breakfast might take more incidents to sink in, so brace yourself for more early morning attacks.
I am blessed in that regard. Ember never wakes me up, not even for breakfast if I oversleep. It's as if she regards sleep as something sacred, or fearful, to avoid disrupting.
But, once I am awake and out of bed, she is merciless in letting me know that breakfast is due (or overdue). She does not meow for food. But she paces, follows my every move, gives me the cat stare, paces some more (beneath the cupboard where her food is stored). Since my first move on getting up is to the bathroom, she follows me there, and stares. ("How dare you pee before feeding me?" ) If she thinks it takes too long, she licks her empty dish so that it rattles.
