Related: About this forumI lucked out and got some pictures of the kitten
You can see that they eyes are just not equal.
The missing fur is a little hard to see because hopefully it is growing back. But there is still a considerable divot. When I first noticed it, you could see the skin.

(24,506 posts)She's lost at least 2 litters so this is her first that survived to leave the den and follow her to the cat cafeteria.

(4,381 posts)I had three from the same litter with the same infection as above. It'll take eye drops to clear it up, but it does clear up the infection quite nicely. Problem is getting the drops in when they're not used to being held, let alone in the house. That's the first step. But you know all the steps, Siwsan. Might want to get her checked for a respiratory infection at the same time. All three of mine had a respiratory infection at the same time as the eye infection; seemed to go hand-in-hand with each other. Once I got the two infections cleared up, have not had any issues at all with these three. Although one is prone to a recurrent eye infection; I just have to keep my eye on her and restart her on the med when it comes back. The other two, no sign on recurrence. No sign of any other infection. They're both hale and hearty and fine adult cats now and spoiled rotten. Good luck on this sweet baby. Wish I were there to help you!

(10,355 posts)amazon and sprinkle it on wet cat food to try and treat eye infections or URIs that are so common in kittens. It is not an ideal treatment, but could help save the eye. I have used it on ferals for several years with no bad experiences. It is amoxicillin --same stuff the doctors prescribe for sinus infections. And Tractor Supply has topical fungicide that can be sponged on those hot spots or possible ringworm without the trauma of bathing. Life is not easy for these kitties, esp. the little ones.

(27,309 posts)I got to within less than 2 feet of the kitten but then ZOOM! It might take two - one to distract and one to bundle it up in a towel.
There's no hissing or spitting when I get close so that gives me some hope.
