Related: About this forumThe kitten rescue just moved a big step forward
I was feeding the outdoor kitcats and for the first time little blue eyes was among them. I was able to give a quick scritch and even a pet. However, I had NOTHING READY except for the play pen on the porch and that door was locked. I don't want to pick the kitten up without some protection for me and I really didn't want to traumatize the rest of the ferals, who are finally comfortable enough to start eating while I am still out with them.
I'm going to get the little litter pan and bed into the play pen and get it ready for a quick 'placement'. And I'm putting gloves and a towel at the side door AND the back door, just to be prepared. This afternoon I'll put out some wet food and see if I can get that close, again. If not then I'll be beyond prepared, tomorrow morning. Hopefully I can do a quick, trauma free extraction.
Something tells me that by this time tomorrow, I might just have the kitten on the way to getting some help. As soon as it is comfortable being handled, off to the vet we will go.

(27,309 posts)Best case scenario is rescuing the 'twin'. The gray one is very wary but I won't give up hope. And trapping their mom for a TNR tops my list.
