Related: About this forumTook Maybee to the creek near my house this afternoon for some fun.
The smoke cleared out and we had a bluebird afternoon. She herds moving water in typical border collie fashion. When we go to a pond or lake she will fetch a toys but at the creek shes a working girl. She came home tired
at least for the moment.

(24,041 posts)I think shes done growing
shes 10 months but has been 34 lbs for at least a month. Our motto in this house is 3 plays a day keeps Maybees demons at bay. So, we have three big plays a day
or two plays and a hike. Its a must. It keeps me moving so I love it.

(25,956 posts)For those approx. 10 months (in almost my entire life!) when we didn't have a dog or dogs it was much harder to motivate to hike!

(24,506 posts)loved water. Whenever we took him out for a run in the country, if there was a creek nearby, he would dive into it. We tossed sticks in and he brought them back.
We also took him to a beach on Lake Erie and he loved going into the Lake.
At home, he turned on the faucet in the tub to splash in the water.

(24,041 posts)I think I have an affinity with them. Intense focus then, squirrel! My husband would often tell our marriage counselor that I had a border collie brain .blessing and a curse to be sure.

(24,041 posts)Maybee herds it. Shes 10 month old and she herds me. Ive tripped over her with a laundry basket full of clothes more times than I can count. She cant be in the back yard when I trim and mow the lawn because she herds that stuff too and I cant get anything done.
