Related: About this forumScooter was acting strange, this morning. And a new pic of Gwyn.
She came scooting back from the feeding station to the back door when I went out to pour some kitten kibble. I keep a bowl by the back door for her kittens, since they hang out there so often.
Anyway, she came right up on the step and started meowing but when I opened the door she'd back off. I went outside to see if maybe there was something wrong with the kittens but they were all there. When I closed the door she'd jump back up and start meowing again. It was just weird. I'm home all day, today, so I'm going to keep an eye on things.
I did get a good pic of Gwyn so you can see those clear blue eyes. The fur seems to be growing back on that bald spot, too. I got within a couple of inches of scritch territory, this morning.

(27,439 posts)It gave me a scare until I saw all 3 kittens.
When I see her, today, I'll head out and sit on the step. She and the kittens spend a lot of time in my back yard. I'm going to see if I still have any sardines so I can give them a treat. If not, I'll pick some up when I run errands, tomorrow.

(95,678 posts)Maybe you could see if she's trying to get you to follow her to some thing or someone. Most cats I have lived with will do that. Mikey does it inside and out side the house. She's too aloof to "herd" you so speaking up and getting your attention is next.
If she leads you in a direction, she may stop a few times along the way, encourage her to show you what it is, check all possibilities along the way. Might be a hazard or something you need to see according to her.
Yesterday, Mikey insisted that I go out and see something. He walked right over to my calendula patch to show me that the deer had eaten every blossom in the patch, again. At least the seed heads were still there. I have a small herd of deer who rove the yards in the neighborhood and enjoy the delights of our gardens. I planted stuff I thought they didn't like but I was wrong. I didn't think they'd eat the petunias, morning glories and marigolds but they do. I put bamboo skewers around some of the stuff they trash, pokes them in the nose before they can eat the flowers. The noise of the protests is interesting in the evening. It's a pair of fawns who graze the yards nearby, I have seen them. Guess they don't like my nose-pokers.
Mikey is like the garden angel, he watches my back while I tend to things, reminds me if I don't go out and water on time, lets me know if I forgot to turn off the sprinkler... he did all that at the old place for two years. He isn't my cat but I'm caring for him right now. We love each other, he responds to my demands and I meet his needs, at this new place, he's been here a couple times last year but I didn't let him outside, we fought about it, this time, he gets to go out. He's always been an indoor/outdoor barn-ish cat. But he's good in the house and obeys commands. He comes when called from over the edge of the ravine out back so I let him out most of the day, keep him in at night because it's a little wild out there even though it's only two miles from where we used to live.
Enjoy your day with all those kitties!

(27,439 posts)I looked out the window, a few minutes ago, and the white kittens are heading to my back yard, again. Gwyn likes to sit on the step or the deck, right next to the full length windows.
The boys are absolutely fascinated. Gryff keeps trying to get out! He's never done that, before. I'm going to have to keep an eye on where he is when I open that door.

(95,678 posts)Gryff may respond to that even though he's "fixed". Maybe he just want to meet everybody else.
I'm curious to see if there is something she wants you to see/know.

(27,439 posts)I put out a little more kibble for her and Gwyn.
Maybe she's just working up the nerve to let me give her some pets when we're not by the food bowls. Maybe she's telling me to keep trying and not give up hope. The fact that she brings the kittens to my yard, every day, despite knowing I'll be outside, seems a good sign.
She is still weaning the kittens and she feeds them in the yard, too.

This is one gorgeous kitten! Wow!
I hope you can get her soon but I'm really glad her eye looks so good & fur is growing back!
