9. We had an arrangement like that

The older cat, Rebel, would do the dirty work while his son stood a post as lookout.
If anyone started to come to the kitchen the son would warn and they'd scramble for cover and try to pretend nothing was going on.
The treats were in the cupboard to the right of the fridge.
Rebel would open the cupboard, pull some treats out, toss some to his son, close the treat box & cupboard and take off.

So we got a latch for a padlock and it had a spike through the opening to lock it.
Rebel would flick the spike out and still get the food.
We had to get a tamperproof clasp.
Rebel could open doors with regular door handles. Smart cat.

4. I never saw either of our cats on top of the fridge,

but one day when I got up on a chair to remind myself what was in the little storage cabinet up above the fridge, I saw a line of paw prints in the dust. Sneaky.

7. I once had a grey tabby who...

opened the kitchen cabinet next to the sink, climbed up to the top shelf, and pulled the Saran Wrap off of a pecan pie to get to it. (I know cats aren't supposed to be able to taste sweets, but that cat had a serious sweet tooth.)

I couldn't be mad at him because it took so much effort. I just laughed and put him back on the floor.
