The sun is out now and it looks like his escape tunnel under the deck is clear he doesnt often come up here in the daytime so maybe hes waiting for evening. I sure hope hes OK

(34,370 posts)than having that worry. I so hope Tiger shows up. It always seems like the vast amount of times this happens they are just fine but that never helps knowing when it happens again.
Good wishes to you and Tiger. I will worry with you.

(35,683 posts)A few years ago this cat disappeared for seven weeks, I was sure he was gone forever. One day he showed up in the yard skinny dehydrated hungry, nursed him back to health and hes been coming to my back door on my second floor deck every night ever since. I know he cant live forever hes 13 now, but I love him

(34,370 posts)Mine was Tiger Brown, I like musical names for my animals when it seems good because I am a musician and there are so many good choices always in my head.
He would never let me really pet him. He would lay beside me and let me use one finger on his head and ONLY his head. He was very special as he would come into one room only and only stay longer when the weather was really bad. I loved him so much. He seemed old when he came the first time but he was with me for seven years.
He was old and he left one day and never came back. It took a long time to stop looking, in fact there is one out here now that looks so similar that I have to call his name but he runs every time.
Those kinds of cats are especially precious, at least I think so. The trust they have in you is so special. I hope if he does not come back you can at least feel a tiny bit of grief taken away by your memories, that was an incredible and wonderful thing you have done.
Tiger Brown used to do this to me now and again so I know that feeling that every one of us has when taking care of a cat like that does not come home.
Sending good thoughts.

(62,079 posts)... disciplined creatures they'd have you believe. They're there every day and then they hiccup the calendar. Show up a day or two later like nothing happened. Or even a week later. There's probably nothing wrong at all, just another opportunity of being reminded out of the blue how much they mean to us.
My purely indoor cat has a fine inner watch until he doesn't. Then I get to get up at 5:00 instead of 6:00 for a day or two.
I believe it's a design flaw. He considers it a feature benefit.

(92,732 posts)Maybe if you take a few minutes and in a calm state, focus on Tiger, like you are talking to him and let him know you are worried and if he would make an appearance it would make you feel better. Remind him that he knows you will help if he's in need. Then release it to the ethers and let yourself focus your attention on other things. If he can, he'll show up sooner than later.
That has always worked for me. If they weren't able to come to me, I was able to find them and help them.

(35,683 posts)Cats like their routine and he doesnt usually come up to my deck when its daytime , so Ill just fret all day. I did go down to check the deck where he usually hides under and it seems like his escape tunnel is clear. If he doesnt show up for supper I will have a pit in my stomach, as They say
