Related: About this forumLife hands you unexpected, unwanted discoveries. I just discovered that Sian had a sibling.
I was cleaning out and downsizing the deck shelter so we can bring out the grill.
In the midst of the straw I saw fur. I don't think the kitten lived much past a week, or so. I first saw Sian on May 6 so she was around 3 weeks old and this kitten was much smaller.
My heart is aching. I buried the Angel next to her sister, Mittens the Kitten. No doubt Mittens, Spooky Jr, Sophie, Morgan and Boudicca were waiting for this baby, on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. And I know this happens so often with all feral animals but it is still so sad.
Now I'm going to cry, and then go up and cuddle with Sian.

(25,453 posts)We adopted a brother-sister pair of Siamese mix kittens on January 31st. They were found outside in Wisconsin, in the cold, with their momma and 4 siblings. Two of the 6 kittens did not survive. The mom and the 2 other siblings have all been adopted also.
People who dump animals should suffer the same fate.

(27,291 posts)One Tortie, one Ginger and one black beauty, Gryff. Someone grabbed them up and brought them to the vet's office I use. When I lost Morgan, my vet let me choose between the Ginger and him. The Tortie had been adopted, immediately.
The Ginger was beautiful but I'm SO glad I chose Gryff.

(92,732 posts)Makes me think Sian's mom knew that she needed you to help and that's why you had a sudden surprise in seeing her. That's a good sign that she recognizes what you do for these babies.
you wonder.

(4,510 posts)I know how hard you try, Siwsan, but you can't blame yourself at all for not seeing this kitty earlier. Can I say it's God's will here? Or quote the Desiterata, "no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should". As I've said before, you are an angel in the world of kitties.
