I got a feel how it might have been for our early ancestors. My cat vs turkey I was prepping.

It was like a lioness trying to chase me off a kill! Good thing I'm 100 times bigger than her and could just pick her up and lock her in the bedroom.

I bought an extra turkey last Thanksgiving. I made a whole turkey dinner for myself. Silver got a couple more timeouts while I was getting everything portioned out, sealed and in the freezer.

I was preparing a chicken to cook. The cat was only about 8 months old at the time. I was surprised at how high she could jump already and really had to fight her off. She almost got to the chicken. Had to put it in the fridge for safe keeping before getting a hold of her to carry into the bathroom and close the door.

She's 7 now and more civilized during preparation. But, while it's cooking, she walks around with her nose in the air, sniffing, and expects a piece when it's done.

She was a very talkative Siamese. One day we came home with some take-out chicken strips. I put everything on the counter and walked into another room for just one second. I came back out and she was dragging one of the chicken strips across the counter in the same way that a leopard drags its kill up into a tree. Needless to say she got to keep that one.
