Related: About this forumThanks to Dewi, I've had to re-work my morning feral feeding routine.
Dewi is much more adventurous than Dylan. Yesterday he was trying to figure out how to break into the veg garden. He was also sizing up a tree for climbing. Dylan sticks closer to the house.
Until now I've fed the adults and then gone back inside to mix up the kitten's food. Well, Dewi has discovered that I feed the big kidcats, first so he races around the corner of the house and starts tucking in to the big sized kibble mix. I don't want any of the bigger ferals swatting him away. Yes, I'm VERY protective of kittens. And I want him to eat kitten food.
This morning I picked him up to take him back to where I feed him and Dylan. Did he put up a fuss!! A regular temper tantrum. But I was one step ahead and already had his and Dylan's food ready to dish up. I'd feed them first but I have no doubt there are bigger ferals who would swoop in and gobble up the kitten food while I'm dishing out the adult stuff.
The other change is, now I'm going to put a bowl of adult food by the kitten food because their mom likes to eat with them. She is such a good mom. Sometimes she just comes over and hangs out and take naps.

(27,300 posts)I overslept by 2 minutes so Madoc knocked something, still not sure what, to the floor to wake me up. It worked. And I overslept because Gryff decided, at 2:30am, that he needed lots and lots of attention.
And yet I still think they are precious.

(27,300 posts)He just seemed to want to be friends, right from the start. Dylan was a little slower to come around but now he 'asks' to be put on my lap, and runs up to me when I go outside. Dewi just races up my leg and settles in.
I cleaned and trimmed some garlic, yesterday. Dewi sat in a lawn chair right next to me and kept me company. Since I know that garlic is deadly to felines, I was SOOOO careful because I knew there was no way I could chase him away. After a while he got bored and fell asleep.

(1,230 posts)Supposed to rain all day here, which is okay because we need some of those steady, soaking rains for the garden and meadowlawn and forest, and to bring the creek back up near full again.
Id love to spend the day just reading on the comfy couch snuggled up with Molly, maybe watch a movie. Unfortunately Im heading to town for a couple of crowns, instead.🦷🦷. It will be good to have it over with, and my dentist is really skilled and has a gentle touch and doesnt skimp on the Novocain. Shes also right across the street from a good Chinese restaurant, so Ill be picking up some hotnsour soup and spring rolls to enjoy when the Novocain wears off!
Rain or shine, I hope you and yours have a lovely day.

(855 posts)If you haven't already done so, you must get the adult ferals spayed and neutered. It's the right thing to do. Thanks
