The kitten stage

The lucky kitty owns the house and everyone in it. Except maybe the other kitty. lol I go over to see my grandkids, and as soon as he knows I'm there, he pounces on me. He pounces on the little dog, he pounces on the grandkids, the big dog. I guess he pounces on my daughter, too, because she said she'll shut him in the bathroom if he plays too rough. And he does play rough. I try to distract him with kitty toys, kids toys, string. He pounces on all of that, too. lol We found that swaddling him in a soft blanke, or in my case, pulling my shirt over him, settles him for a few minutes. But he's basically a little ball of energy, claws, and teeth. In spite of my best effort, I have scratches on my arms and legs. Looks like I've been picking raspberries. I hope anyone who gets a kitten knows they are getting a high energy pet. The sleeping cat comes later

lol

I'm so glad that you dogs are so well-behaved and my granddogs, too. The little dog is like a mother to the kitty, and lets him get away with a lot. He has his own cat food, but if I'm not watchful, he pokes his head into the little dog's dish, and eats pieces of her food. He doesn't try that with the adult kitty. I think she's the only one who is teaching him manners

Have fun with your new addition.
