Don't know who does this but I have learned to put catnip in water and boil it a little

Then strain it and put it in a spray bottle. Then I spray her toys and she plays with them!

(If I knew an easy to get picture on DU I would do it but............I wonder if DU4 will allow us to stick pictures?)

Ooh, catnip extract! getagrip_already Aug 2023 #1
Never heard of that. You just soak the catnip in the Everclear, (which I think is a very high octane vodka right?) Maraya1969 Aug 2023 #2
Just checked on Reddit and some are saying that the alcohol would make the liquid toxic? Maraya1969 Aug 2023 #3
I don't know if it would or wouldn't, but wnylib Aug 2023 #5
The liquid might be, but you would let it dry first.... getagrip_already Aug 2023 #6

I bet using everclear would work even better, no boil required.

The alcohol will evaporate, but the essential oils won't be damaged by heat and you will get a much higher extraction rate since oils are hydro phobic.

I'd be reluctant to take the risk. Better to check with a vet before trying it.

Of course you could always just dry rub a toy with some fresh catnip. The old fashion way.....
