And now there are 6

All 6 of the kittens are now in playpens. When I checked, again, the mom had taken off and there was a collection of wet babies looking at me. I really thought the mom would take the girls with her but I guess she's 'liberating' them.

Dylan went from relatively dry to soaking wet. Not sure how since it isn't raining. Perhaps he dove in a puddle as a ploy for sympathy. Merlin. who is totally dry, kept trying to sneak inside. I brought Rhys in with them so he wouldn't be alone. He is also totally dry.

I'll sleep better knowing they are safe and warm. And, yea, I'll probably be checking on them throughout the night.

I don't know if cat moms liberate instantly or gradually, but she definitely is good with leaving them on their own. keopeli Sep 2023 #6

Seeing them so wet brought back a bad memory. This time they weren't even crying. Just sitting there looking so sad.

I feel better about it too. They didn't like being apart, I think. And they know the nice lady on the house has food and a warm, dry place to crash and lots of snuggles... can't really blame them!

You feel better about it in the morning, even if you're tired.
