What did you do with your pet's ashes?

Cat passed two weeks ago. Picked up the ashes today.

1. Our mostly indoor cat had a favorite spot to sun herself just at the edge of the canopy of a dwarf

fruit tree in our backyard garden. We dug a extra deep hole there, put in the ashes, then some dirt, and then planted some bulbs. Eventually those bulbs.might go kaput, but in the meantime her flowers grow/bloom every year in her spot.

But pet funeral home was chock full of urns..sized from teeny tiny (smaller than a cigarette lighter) to big.

Made me wonder how many keep the ashes around, like on a mantle

5. Tony, our cat, is in a memorial box.

We did the same with Zatanna, but we special ordered one which has her pictures and name on it (Amazon). With Voodoo, we placed his cremains in his favorite toy, Sex Bomb, a toy he used to hump then placed it inside a glass case.

would get split up between other pet owners rather than come home completely.

29. The animal shelter in my county

cremated our dog with a guarantee of not co-mingling her ashes for $25. That was about 14 years ago. I don't know if they still offer that service.

I still have the ashes. Next week we are moving to what I expect to be our last home and I will plant a rose bush with her ashes mixed into the soil.

12. I buried Boudicca's ashes with her best friend, Sophie

When I received Morgan's ashes, they were in a beautiful, carved wood box. There was also a lovely plaque with her name and paw prints. Those are kept in a place of honor.

13. My cats (four of them, long lived, and happy lives), all are in our own PET cemetery,

on my land, next to my parent's old place (now my sister's place). They all have markers (homemade) too. Located on a long gravel road, and amidst the trees along the edge of a pasture, it's a very nice view/spot (and we're the only ones on this road). I go walking down the gravel road quite a bit, w/ the dogs (3 of them), and we'll go there along on our journey, and then back to the house, about a 1/4-mile walk...a very nice walk in the Ozarks.

Even though it's been years, I miss them all. But, it helps to have a spot where I can reflect on them and their memories. I even have some made of wire full sized deer, standing guard.

20. Plant a dogwood

The best dogs got their own tree, box buried there. 3 great Danes, and a wonderful Ridgeback mix, all rescues.
my last Dane is on the mantel, next to my husband. Boxes will stay with their trees when I move.
The husband got two dogwoods, one in front and one in back.
Very special time when their trees each bloom.

21. One of our dog's ashes are in a sealed wooden box.

With her name craved in a brass plate. They sits in our bookshelf collecting dust & keeping memories.
That option was offered to us by the vet who put her down.

My cat, Luna, died at home so I drove her directly to the business.

24. I've had them for over 3 years.

I'm planning to scatter them at a state park where I took him camping, but I don't know if I'm ready yet. I'm sure about the place, I'm just not sure I'm ready to let go.

To plant ( I assume has ashes in it too) , sympathy cards, lil wooden heart. I haven't unpacked the bag yet.
