Related: About this forumThe kidcats aren't pleased with the time change
Their usual feeding time is 6 but I shift it to 7 during the Winter so that there's less time between their breakfast and the outdoor kidcat's, who start getting impatient at daybreak. I don't eat until everyone else is fed so this shortens the time between waking up and drinking coffee. I should buy an automatic coffee maker with a timer, instead of using a French Press.
But I digress. Just before 5, Madoc pawed me into wakefulness. When I didn't budge, he tunneled beneath the comforter and curled up next to me. Then Arthur arrived. He sat on my ribs for a few minutes. When I didn't move, he did but Gryff took his place. Gryff weighs a bit more than Arthur. Sian joined Gryff. Madoc became impatient and exited the bedding so that he could repeatedly paw at the covers and POUNCE on my feet.
Carys just stood by and let the others work on getting me out of bed.
I endured this for 30 minutes and finally gave up. I dished out their food and got the kittens breakfast mixed.
When I walked up to the sliding glass door, all 3 were staring at me and I realized if that door had been open, they would have joined the fray. And Bronwyn likes to 'nibble'.
Now I get an hour to straighten up the bed, check the Aldi ad, check the news, post on DU, get dressed and mix up the outdoor kidcats food because they can be impatient. It's foggy, this morning, so maybe they will sleep in.

(35,678 posts)I gave up on the fancy ways of fixing coffee and got a drip Mr. coffee pot and I set it up the night before, so I only have to push the button in the morning. My fingers dont always grasp things so well when I first get up.Tiger has been sleeping in his little house on the porch, and he needs to be fed before dawn. But I am very glad to see him healthy.

(27,291 posts)Temporarily there are 3 kittens in the sun room. That ends tomorrow.
Outside numbers vary but it seems to average about 8. Sometimes they disappear for a while but eventually they return. Several other people are also feeding them.

Chuck always lets me know when I need to get up - usually by rubbing his wet nose on mine. Chloe used to (she crossed the Rainbow Bridge a couple years back) by licking my armpit. I prefer the wet nose, but I miss the armpit.

(119,945 posts)guy just stretches out across my hip and thigh, or, if it is really cold, demands to get under the covers.
For many years, I had a Krups automatic coffee maker with an inpot grinder. It was such a treat to wake up to the smell and taste.

(3,157 posts)But they are impatient, too, and can't figure out why I haven't gotten up and fed them. We need to stop this bi-annual time change, if for no other reason than our pets can't figure it out!!
