4. Thanks for asking The Roux Comes First. We found through DNA testing that Shadow is one half Blue Heeler,

one quarter Border Collie, and one quarter Golden Retriever, Alaskan Malamute, White Swiss Shepherd.

She didn't by any chance come equipped with one of those boisterous genes, did she?

She looks as though a half-marathon would barely faze her.

6. Good morning, Shadow. It is such a pleasure to see you again, looking so

splendid and happy. Enjoy your ball!

8. Oh she does niyad! She enjoys her blue ball, especially when we step out onto the back

porch. She sits and looks at me. I start to speak, her ears perk up. I say "Wanna go get the mail?" and she charges down off the porch sprints straight towards her ball waiting in the back yard, scoops it up in her teeth and charges up the driveway all the way to the end, whereupon she does a quick 180° turn and romps back down the driveway heading my way, gaining speed. Just before she gets there I bend down a bit then swat at the ball in-her-sharp-and-strong teeth while she dances around me, taunting me to take her ball away. And she always wins! Miss Strong Jaws keeps tight hold of her prized possession and trots away.

Ultimately I reach the mailbox and complete the task.
