She wanted to observe my cousin, from a short distance, and the coffee table was in the way. So, she stood up on her hind legs, just like a little Meercat. I'd never seen her do that, before.
She has also realized she's the only kidcat who is still small enough to slide beneath the bottom trim of that coffee table. She starts a chase with the bigger siblings and then does an impressive slide underneath the table. Gryff tried to do the same thing while chasing her and found out his big old head just wasn't going to fit. Instead he stretched out and reached beneath to try and find her.
I'm hoping she will do that Meercat stance, again, so I can get a photo. It was beyond adorable.

(92,842 posts)I had a couple Siamese mixes who did that all the time. I've had a few who did it on occasion. One used to do that in order to see over the edge of the bathtub, at that point she seemed like a combination of cat, monkey and owl, if you can imagine that. Hard to describe.

Last night they were back to snuggling with me. I suspect they are glad things are back to normal. Well, maybe not Gryff and Sian. They just loved my cousin because they got double the snuggles.
