Related: About this forumCats are my favorite creatures, and there's a Russian Blue at PetSmart in Tacoma
...we went overtown yesterday, meaning off of the island to get our twice monthly supplies, and stopped in at PetSmart.
There were three cats there. I wanted them all. One was a big 6 month old boy, so lovey, white with black and orange coloring and yellow eyes. So lovey! One was pending adoption, and one was a 5 year old Russian Blue, about 12 lbs. or so, also so lovey! Before we had the boys (Midnight and Jasper) we had Blue. He was a Russian Blue. A big, robust boy. We lost him to the coyotes here. It was awful. He was only 2. So Z built a catio for our two boys we got some time after Blue's demise. I had another RB who was stolen from me years ago, so I have a really soft spot for them.
So, anyway, this little RB kitty is up for grabs at PetSmart in Tacoma. I cried when I left as of course we seemed to bond. We just can't have another kitty right now.

(38,304 posts)We are down to one animal, a dog, for the first time in over 35 years & the first time with no cats. I hope by summer we can look for a couple of cats. Our last several animals have all been older.

(2,067 posts)like that. Blue cuddled my head and would hold me. He was my familiar.

(27,529 posts)Tomorrow is our two-year anniversary. As in the OP, we adopted her after meeting with foster mother in a PetSmart. She had a congenital defect of her eyelids that required two separate surgeries. I just wanted her to keep her sight.
Here she is during her recovery.
And here she is today.

(10,335 posts)are beautiful. Surgeon did a nice job. One of my late, great kitties, Lola, had to have a tumor removed from above her eye which required a bit of reconstructive surgery. Her eye looked very much like your girl's, but she never had any visual difficulties afterwards. My little tortie had to have one eye removed and her other eye has some corneal scarring, but she is a wild thing and hardly ever slows down.

(2,067 posts)Midsomer Murders! Indeed, when Blue was just 4 months old and he ran up to me with a mouse in his mouth! Ha! It was big for him, and he dropped it, but eventually got it. He was the best mouser!
