Lighting definitely does not strike twice with Dunc the golden retriever.

Mr big paws our first golden was the bestest boy just all around great furry kid. Once he brought in a baby bunny in his mouth we didn’t know he had the bunny until he put it on couch looking at it smiling he was so sweet.

Then we have Duncan I remember the day I brought him home and handed him to Liz. And she was like oh my he’s a adorable little guy it’s gonna be all unicorns and rainbows just like Mr big paws.
So this morning shithead stole a mouse off the cat and ate it. And now he just threw it up awhile ago and now he’s mooching leftover shepherds pie.

but a squirrel racing by? I'm just glad she can't catch them.

And if the neighbor's cat presented her with a juicy rodent, well...

He loves to eat mice. Kills possums. In his younger days he could outrun (and thus eat) squirrels or chipmunks on the ground. Loves to find a rabbit's nest, with the resulting carnage, but will settle for adult rabbits. Chases buzzards. Hates snakes without regard for their pedigree (has been bitten twice on the snout by copperheads). Tag-teamed with my bull mastiff in a running battle through the woods with an otter from the catfish pond to where it finally escaped in a creek nearly a mile away. Makes mowing 'interesting' because he's always digging for moles to show off.

Yet I still give him treats and a spot on the couch.
