Can anybody recommend me a good cat litter?

I’ve been using tidy cat, the light weight. Which is good, however, it’s real bad to get in my cats paws and end up all over the place. Any suggestions?

Natural, no fake smells, cats like it, it clumped so could be scooped.

2. I like the pine pellets. Dr Pols are my go to.

It’s best in a litter box with a shaker tray. When the pellets get wet they dissolve into sawdust. Lift the shaker tray a bit at the front and run the scooper over the pellets to knock all the saw dust into the bottom tray then dump the bottom tray. My Sir Pees A Lot will pee on anything on the floor so I had to find a trackless kitty litter since I can’t have a mat in front of the litter box. I’m super happy with the arrangement and there’s none of that clay dust.

3. I like unscented World's Best Cat Litter.

I have five cats, so I need an excellent litter that won't stick to the bottom of the pan, controls odor, and holds clumps well. I almost didn't try this one because the name sounds like overhype, but it really is good. It comes in lightweight, too.

4. When Mikey was here...

I used a Purina product that was made from ground corn cob and cedar. I can't deal with the clay types, I always end up with sinus problems. They are all pricey but that one, and the one made from wheat chaff wasn't bad either but it was expensive.

I'm not sure what's on the market in your area.

5. I like Fresh Step

It sounds like everyone has different favorites.
I like Fresh Step because it seems that it is better at clumping. If you don't like clumping litter, disregard my recommendation.

13. I do too because it clumps so well. The unscented is fine. My cat likes to go outside mostly. Even in winter.

6. I like the paper litter!

I started using it because it doesn’t clump and I was paranoid that my dog would accidentally eat some of it and then block her digestive tract. I love it. It doesn’t cause a mess, it doesn’t smell, and is more safe if you have a kitten. I buy the unscented. And, these are the different brands that I’m familiar with…

And it's available as pellets or "crumbles". The pellets are compacted paper formed in the shape of a small cylinder about 3/8 inch to 1/2 inch long, about 3/16 inch in diameter. The crumbles appear to be chunks of the pellets cut to a smaller length. Highly absorbent and highly recommended.

Our vet recommended it because the clay litter was irritating the pads on Kitty Girl's paws.

7. I use the bulk stuff from Petco. 30 lb buckets you can refill from a big bin they have. Works good and

isn't scented. I hate scented cat litter, dryer sheets and anything like that I can actually taste when handled.

8. Second vote for Pine Pellets. Bonus: Get Equine Bedding

Tractor Supply Co carries it for $7/40 pounds.
The pellets are sawdust held together with a gluten binder. All natural.
Urine makes the pellets dissolve into sawdust. Then you sift that out, and clean pellets remain. Refresh as needed.
Got this when our cats started getting urinary blockage from the fine crystalline dust from traditional cat litters.

Clay is usually least expensive, but even the dust free is pretty dusty and it's HEAVY to transport.
Corn based is light, clumps as well as clay and is long lasting and so much lighter to transport.

Totally loved it. Didn't smell bad with 5 cats (I was fostering). Easy to scoop and more environmentally friendly than many.

I only wish I could buy it here. I hate the stuff I use now. It gets tracked all over the house.

14. I've never found a good substitute for clay litter

I’ve tried em all, and every kind of litter has drawbacks. Clumping clay litter has been both economical and most accepted by the cats. I’ve invested in those mats that help to prevent tracking and a really good cordless vac.

16. I like Frisco from Chewy.

It clumps really well, the lavender scent is nice, & it's less expensive than others we've tried.
