getting treats from a doggie daddio. There's a dog party every Sunday at 9 am at KVI Beach. I just love this photo. Some of these dogs have grown up together meeting every Sunday at the beach.

(34,700 posts)Ive never visited Washington state but would love to some day. Alas, the older I get the less likely it seems well ever get there.
Ill just enjoy your photos and paintings instead!

(2,067 posts)I've never been to. I don't plan on traveling anywhere, though Z has fantasies about living in Italy, or Guatemala, where my daughter and sil own land, and he says would be nice and warm for me. The cold gets me.
I have too many physical ailments at this point to really travel. You are welcome to visit, though! We do have a lovely upstairs room, though the stairs are steep. And there are Airbnb's on this block and all over Vashon.

(34,700 posts)My nephew loves Whidbey Island. He and his wife are both retired from the Navy. I seriously doubt well ever make it out there, but your offer of hospitality warms my heart.
Would love to get out of Ohio, but our 3 sons are all still here. And at my age I cant fathom starting over somewhere new where I dont know a soul.

(2,067 posts)Of course you have to stay with your sons! My daughter and grandsons live about 2 miles away, and my other child lives now in Tacoma.
I couldn't leave them ever.

(2,067 posts)When Z meets newcomers to the island on the beach with their dogs, he tells them about the dog party. It's a great way for the community to get together, or at least a tiny part of it.

They all know the routine! It would make a fun painting.

(2,067 posts)at all, It's so easy from a photo. However, I'm not going to do it, or if I do it would be later. My hands are starting to go out. I have EDS and my joints are loose, so I have problems of late. I'll finish up what I have and we'll see what happens. I would do the painting as is. It's charming.
