Pet feeding hack: Standard Time

If you regularly feed your pets at the same time every day, now is the time to start feeding them half an hour late (if possible).

Then when we go back to Standard Time, return to your old schedule - and it will only be half an hour later than they are used to.

Example:

I currently feed cats at 8:00am and 5:00pm

Start feeding them at 8:30am and 5:30pm now

Starting Nov 10 feed at 8:00am and 5:00pm

They’ll think it’s 9:00am and 6:00pm, but that’ll only be half an hour later than they’ve become accustomed to eating.

I hate staring at their sad little faces for an hour. Now I’ll only have to look at them for 30 minutes.

about as well as I do... which is terribly! Pick one or the other and stay there. Time is simply a mental societal construct that our bodies get used to, anyway. Throws off the melatonin and other chemicals in the body. You're either going to GO someplace in the dark, or COME HOME in the dark. Frankly, I'd rather we leave it alone and just stay on daylight saving time. I like the extra light in the evenings!

Thanks for the tip, btw!

as long as I haven’t eaten. We usually flex an hour or more either side of 7am and 5:30pm. When the time changes the women will be leaving later and I will probably be feeding the cats before they get up.

Like you said- about a half an hour difference to make it a softer landing with the new time!
