(360 posts)Oh, Siwsan, he's adorable squared.
I have a 6 month old black girl kitten named Blackberry. She only weights 4 lbs. The vet says she is going to be very small. I love black cats. I wonder if he will be tiny too?
You and he are so lucky.

(3,054 posts)She only weighed in at 4 pounds her whole life. When she passed she was just a month shy of her 23rd birthday. When she was about 18 she decided that she wanted to hang out on our stove top, of all places. We made a lot of sandwiches that month and I cooked out on the grill.
Anyway, I hope that little Blackberry and little Merlin both do well!

My black cat Raven looked about as cute as that, when I first got her.
She's 8 now.

(2,844 posts)I think of them as the minimalist, essential cat: no distracting colors or patterns, simply "the thing itself". There are normally two cats in my household at any one time, with one of them being black. At the moment, there are three grown littermates, one a grey tabby floofmonster, the others sleek, ebony beauties.

I bet he would do well..my cats have not fared well on that site ;-/. Therefore it is rigged!
Pusheen (the famous tooncat) will not be able to beat Merlin at this rate:

(27,440 posts)Arthur started curling up next to me, again, at night. Gryff continues to sniff at Merlin but then heads off to places unknown.
Madoc is still on the fence. Carys? Who knows. I'll have a better idea on how things are progressing, starting on Friday. My friend heads back home so things in the house will settled back into our usual routine.
Hopefully, like you said, things will settle down when your house quest departs and a routine is established. But please... keep those photos coming!

(27,440 posts)I doubt they will be small enough to fit him but we'll see. If they are too big, maybe Gryff will humor me and wear them for a while. At least for some photos.
I ordered him a snuggle toy that purrs so that I can get him to sleep in a cat bed instead of on me. My right shoulder is one big muscle knot from accommodating him.

(229,401 posts)Do you know how old he is? He reminds me of my Felix when I first found him in a supermarket parking lot on my way home - and my vet said he was about 7 weeks. He's the third black kitty I've had in my life, 2 long-haired.
Siwsan
(27,440 posts)He's definitely not the size of a 5 week old but he seems to be hitting the other bench marks. His teeth are fully in and his ears are wide open. He's racing around and climbing up on things and scratching around the litter box. Sometimes I 'prime the pump' and then put him in the playpen, which is where his litter box is, for now. He is a little slow to give up the bottle so I modified it for slurry. My guest leaves tomorrow so I'll have more time to concentrate on training him to eat out of a bowl.

(27,440 posts)I put off cleaning up after last night's dinner party so I've got plenty of stuff to do, this morning. Not balancing a kitten on my shoulder will make things go much faster and easier.
