Definitely moving, but I think he was talking about when he was first elected and his mother-in-law's reaction to that.

Because of the time she lived as a black girl not being welcomed to live in certain neighborhoods to seeing her daughter and son in law residents of The White House, where she also lived. A White House that her ancestors helped build, as I understand. What did she think and feel that in her life span, this was even a possibility? Interesting conversation with President Obama
