Popehat's somewhat sanctimonious take seems akin to a surgeon proceeding to meticulously, laboriously excise sections of a large fully circumscribed cancerous tumor over hour upon hour upon hour (adding to the very real risk of spread, complications, and infection) rather than ligating its blood supply and removing in bulk (while likewise exploring nearby tissue and adjacent lymph nodes for spread). Get the damned thing out, and in the litigation world, look at the full extent of lies and resultant incitement as one big act that needs excision--not tender, meticulous dissection.
