The phrase “Orwellian” is overused, but bowing to state censorship while claiming to embrace academic freedom fits the bill

.@FLCollegeSystem Presidents just issued a vague pro-DeSantis statement promising to remove "all woke positions and ideologies" from public colleges by 2/1/23.

That includes DEI programs they now claim do "the very opposite".

One by one, these institutions have fallen in line.

2. One of my ambitious former professors took a very high level job in the Florida university system.

She helped greatly expand the system and bring it up to higher standards. She was liberal btw.
She is retired now, but she must be crushed by what is happening.

3. Woke equals educated...

So universities attacking wokeness is literally turning away customers.

They have refunded k12 and postsecondary education for 40 years and a dumbed down electorate is what they want, because it is what republicans need.

My sister teaches in the system and two of her kids attend. I don’t know what she’ll do. She teaches all kind of woke!
