(CA) Only in Humboldt…Pounds in the Trash

Pounds in the trash? Does that happen anywhere except the Emerald Triangle? Yesterday, Bob Ornelas, owner of Arcata Construction Services, was at the Eureka Transfer Station when he watched the staff “slice open” some trash bags. Revealing…(drum roll please) pounds of pot.

Every day, marijuana stems probably get tossed at the station but, this time, according to Ornelas, the bags were full of “some very dry, mid level bud” as well as trim and stems. Ornelas described the product as “plants that someone had clipped all the big buds off of.”

The staff, Ornelas said, just laughed at the contents and then threw the bags out with the rest of the trash.

I've helped friends cart garbage bags full to that self-same transfer station. Oddly, I know Bob O. too, although not well (he's widely known in the community, as is his wife).

edit: In many parts of the country, that trim would be premium pot, LOL. Here, we make cannibis butter until we have a freezer full, then just throw the rest away by the bag full.

The comment was "bad bob" used to work in the hills.

Are you following the Garret Rodriguez, murder mountain and the 8 vigilantes story? The makings of an incredible book or movie. Glad his family is getting some closure.

Peace.

Weird shit happens in SoHum and northern Mendo sometimes. I don't think Chris Giauque has ever been found, for example.

How'd he get the "socialite" moniker?

What happens to Chris was terrible, with his wife getting re-married, the buried million and even more recent tales of ken estes and GDP.

With the Garret Rodriguez case. From the comments on loco, the guy who killed Garret, was going around Alder Point telling people they might be the next, if they didn't do it his way. Guess the neighbors had had enough. Eight men in cammo with bushmasters kidnapped him, and tortured him into revealing where Garret was buried. The good news is Garrets body's been found, and a murderer outed. The bad news is a gang of at least 8 is making the law in AP. I hope their motives were pure, closure for Garrets mom, but part of me thinks they just didn't want the heat in the neighborhood and served up the murderer to the HCSD on a platter. It's got the makings of great book or movie. Weird shit is right...

I wish the emerald triangle were all good vibes and beauty, sad to say there are some scary people in the trade.

I live down in the city, but dream of a homestead with a couple goats, chickens, lots of water and some friendly trustworthy neighbors.

Spend a lot of time listening to KHUM and KMUD and reading loco.

Peace
