(2,375 posts)The horrifying, tragic fact is that the political capital we squander on "gun control" kills -- because it cedes power to GOP policies which IN FACT kill U.S. citizens in a number of ways. I have little doubt that we'd be living in a nation with single-payer health coverage if we hadn't pushed away voters with the dishonest horseshit we've been serving up for decades now.
And of course we're handcuffed in trying to get at the root causes of gun violence. ("War on Drugs", poverty, opportunity inequality etc.)
