White House vows to fight media 'tooth and nail' over Trump coverage
By Doina Chiacu and Jason Lange | WASHINGTON
The White House vowed on Sunday to fight the news media "tooth and nail" over what it sees as unfair attacks, with a top adviser saying the Trump administration had presented "alternative facts" to counter low inauguration crowd estimates.
On his first full day as president, Trump said he had a "running war" with the media and accused journalists of underestimating the number of people who turned out Friday for his swearing-in.
White House officials made clear no truce was on the horizon on Sunday in television interviews that set a much harsher tone in the traditionally adversarial relationship between the White House and the press corps.
"The point is not the crowd size. The point is the attacks and the attempt to delegitimize this president in one day. And we're not going to sit around and take it," Chief of Staff Reince Priebus said on "Fox News Sunday."

(186,672 posts)Just today I got in a conversation on FB with three Repubs about the March. It ended up with a complaint about the garbage left behind. Very civil discussion. I pointed out that there were two events and this was standard for the Park Service. I even included a link to a local DC story. In response "okay but I think a lot of people have questions". This must be one of the talking points today on Fox. I have them a full explanation and a source and it's still not enough.

Proof they are incapable of thinking like responsible adults, they present a danger to the human race with their unflinching support of a madman.

(186,672 posts)They started this when the first fax machines came out. Blast faxes could be signed up for and that one guy in the office would get these and have basically fake news to inject into conversations. I think Norquist was involved but I'm not sure. Fox News picked this up - they got stories out lightning fast to direct the conversation or at least derail it.
