CBS "news" continues downhill

First, they added Gayle King to the morning show. At first she was supposed to be on the second hour, the fluffy one. Now she is from the beginning and edging Nora O'Donnell who, after all, has a journalistic background.

And this morning, Charlie Rose - not exactly a hard core journalist - declared with pomp and circumstances that Oprah will join "60 minutes" in the fall as "special contributor."

Right, he network of Edward R. Murrow, or Mike Wallace and Walter Cronkite has now completed the Oprahization of its so-called news division. Carrying one's emotions in public, letting it all loose.. Forget simple facts and analysis but get the hankies out.

I hope that Scott Pelley will not be next.
