Don Jr writes about a visit to Arlington National Cemetery

I try to avoid listening to and, especially, repeating anything he says. This is too much to ignore.

Champagne popsicles for Veterans Day, anyone?

In his new book, Don Jr writes about a visit to Arlington National Cemetery before his father's inauguration and compares the sacrifice of the soldiers buried there to "all the sacrifices we'd have to make to help my father succeed." https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-jr-new-book-about-how-he-feels-like-victim-2019-11

Donald Trump Jr.'s new book is a lengthy rant about how his family has been victimized by Trump's presidency

"A victimhood complex has taken root in the American left," the younger Trump writes in a book that is focused on how the Trump family has been victimized as a result of his father's presidency.

In one chapter, "Election Night," Trump spends a significant amount of time discussing how his family has purportedly taken a financial toll from his father's ascendance to the highest office in the land.

Writing about a visit to Arlington National Cemetery the day before his father's inauguration, Trump said: "I rarely get emotional, if ever. I guess you'd call me hyper-rational, stoic. Yet as we drove past the rows of white grave markers, in the gravity of the moment, I had a deep sense of the importance of the presidency and a love of our country ... In that moment, I also thought of all the attacks we'd already suffered as a family, and about all the sacrifices we'd have to make to help my father succeed — voluntarily giving up a huge chunk of our business and all international deals to avoid the appearance that we were 'profiting off of the office.'"

He goes on to say: "Frankly, it was a big sacrifice, costing us millions and millions of dollars annually ... Of course, we didn't get any credit whatsoever from the mainstream media, which now does not surprise me at all."

This family is loathsome. Spoiled brats comparing themselves to dead soldiers is about as disgusting as you can get.

Think about the sacrifices the citizens have to make because your idiot father is in charge of the country. Things like clean air, clean water, etc.

Not to mention, you'll never be buried in Arlington, you putz.

It's a vehicle to launder political contributions into Bonespur Junior's pockets (suckers send $X to MAGAmoron PAC and get a copy, which is paid for out of the donation).

And I would not consider him rational or stoic. More like dense and inhumane.

As an obvious crime family of grifters, that kind of babble and playing victim is grotesque and ridiculous.

Even the mobsters of the past had more class than this group of mutated, DNA miscreants. Without Granpa's money in the first place, they wouldn't be able to hold down real jobs and would most likely be failing at more traditional, organized crime as their only revenue. Drug deals and meth labs come to mind, and I even doubt their ability to do that well. The Trump name stands for real trash and I wonder if they realize that their public showings are making that so very clear?

Now, I look forward to them just going away for good. Given enough time, they will emulate Daddy and blow it all.

Unbelievable.

They have zero connection to a single person in Arlington. I am not denying that immigrants can have a love for their adopted countries, or even that Trump Jr is proud to be American, and may even have been moved by Arlington, as most people are, BUT....

no one on either side of his family has ever fought on behalf of the United States in a war, and no one in his generation has, and I'm going to guess that none of the Trump grandchildren plan to serve in the military either!

Please, please, give us a way to up/down-vote posts within the original.

For example, I want this OP to be viewed since it is so emblematic of the rot in the trump family.

But I want to show a particular sub-post as being plus aligned or not with my thinking.

Needles to say, I think dump/jr is reprehensible, and the comments are right-on.

Of course, this should not be the least bit surprising, given The Orange One's response to Khizr Khan's "what have you sacrificed?" challenge, "I am financially brave."
