either amend or renounce the oath.

When discharged you are no longer legally bound by your oath.

On a moral basis, I will not serve, or give loyalty or comfort to a Fascist, by any name, regardless of his or her rank in political structure. For instance, if Trump were to escape justice and resume the Presidency through hook, crook or honest election, I could not be bound to obeying his orders for I believe him to be an enemy of the Constitution and the nation, and that contradiction would allow me freedom of choice without guilt.

The oath was written it a time where a traitorous President was unimaginable; my how times have changed.

Funny story - I was at the recruitment center, raising my hand at the same moment Ronald Reagan was raising his on the television screen in the day room we used.

I have never broken it and have no plans of breaking it. It was for life. And still is.
