I have been trying to find the name of the first Black man to complete West Point, because of a story I heard.
I know it is a Google it yourself thing but I am coming up empty. I have to leave soon and I would want to use his name tonight.

By 1993 it was part of an armored Combined Arms Task Force, and hadn't had horses for 60 years. But there was a painting of him up in the lobby of the barracks.

(518 posts)The story that I heard was that the reason he was able to complete was the honor code. You can't fuck over a fellow cadet, and complete with honor. So they chose not to speak to him. Mr Flipper went through the 4yrs. of the point without anyone saying a word to him, pass or fail was all on him. To me this a romantic story. Just think of it! 4yrs with no one telling you their smallness is your fault. Man I am swooning.
Really though, that was my take away before the research I am starting now. I am vary OK with finding out what I am about in my life, without being told what I am about before I start. Then having self for-filling prophecies nag me all the way to my grave. Really, I swoon.
Once more, Thank You
